How Can I Be A Tour Guide?

We are thrilled you are considering to be one of our volunteer DOCENTS (tour guide). If you want to meet people from around the world, this is the place to do it! In any given week, as an AUWC Tour Guide, you may meet people from as far away as China, Namibia, Venezuela, England or Australia; and Americans from across this great land! A tour guide conducts tours for five to twenty people around the USS Cavalla and USS Stewart in a 45 to 60 minute time period. The tour process consists of the basic greeting, giving an orientation/summary presentation in front of the information boards, provide a safety briefing and a series of two-minute lectures at stations in USS Cavalla and around USS Stewart. Tours end with a walk around the submarine memorial and a question/answer period in the circle.
